Help! I need an Office 365 Security Review

If your company uses Office 365, you’ve made a great choice. Office 365 is highly secure, and can be used as part of a HIPAA-compliant company. However, we find that many companies haven’t configured their Office 365 system correctly. Microsoft offers hundreds of settings in Office 365, and it’s very easy to set it up the wrong way. In the Office 365 HIPAA Security Review, we evaluate all of these settings to make sure that your business is safe, secure, and HIPAA-compliant.

Don’t have Office 365 yet?  Check out our HIPAA Compliant Office 365 service – we make it easy, fast, and secure to get setup with Office 365.

The Office 365 Security Audit covers:

Outlook Email

Make sure your email is configured properly. Send HIPAA-compliant emails and defend against phishing attacks.

OneDrive and SharePoint

Make sure your files containing PHI aren’t leaking. Have protection even if a computer is lost or stolen.

Passwords and Multi Factor

We’ll review your settings to minimize your risk of a password breach or hackers accessing your account.

Calendar

Make sure your calendar details aren’t disclosing patient information.

Exchange Mail Flow

There are good mail flow rules and bad mail flow rules. We check them all and tell you what to fix.

Malware and Spam Protection

Are you using the best settings to protect against malware and spam?

Mobile

Make sure your iPhone, iPad or Android devices are set up the right way to properly access ePHI.

Alerts and Reports

Set up a system to notify you when something bad or weird happens.

Top 3 Office 365 Mistakes

Messing up the HIPAA BAA. Did you review the Microsoft BAA? Good, but you’re not done! The BAA is the FIRST step to being HIPAA-compliant. A lot of practices don’t read the BAA, which legally obligates you to make quite a few other changes.

Using third party apps. What apps are you using? What about your staff? We see practices of all sizes letting this slide. Don’t let third party apps access your PHI!

Two factor authentication. It is surprisingly and shockingly easy to get usernames and passwords, but two factor authentication makes it harder for hackers to access your data.
